LLM Scholarships and Bursaries offered by the University of London for Pakistani students

Up to 18 scholarships per year are available for high-performing students on the LLM programme. Bursaries are available for all University of London LLB alumni for their LLM programme fees at 30%. All applicants (including LLB alumni) residing in Pakistan can take advantage of a 40% bursary for the LLM.

Financial Aid and Scholarships

We at Business and Law School are aware that fees can be a worrying concern for most students and parents. We aim to help in this regard by stating clearly and simply what you need to pay for and what support is available to you. Apart from the money that you and your family may contribute to support your studies, various other sources of funding are also available to students.

We offer a range of scholarships for students based on both academic merit and financial need, some tied to particular departments and some open to all.

Financial Aid and Scholarships

  • New or existing students enrolling in a bachelors degree program at BLS may apply for the BLS Scholarship.
  • Awards are granted to students with exemplary academic results or achievements in studies.
  • PKR 75,000 discounted from BLS Tuition Fee if you hold 3 B grades or higher in A-Levels.
  • PKR 75,000 discounted from BLS Tuition Fee if you hold 2nd Division or higher in BA.
  • Open to Pakistani citizens, permanent residents and international students, the scholarships are tenable for the minimum period required to complete the full/remaining course of study, as stipulated by the program.
  • Scholarship is based on assessment of merit as well as availability of funds.
  • Selection of candidate for scholarship will be decided on the basis of information provided in the application form and investigation for the authentication of provided information.
  • Candidate may be required to appear for interview(s).
  • The award covers scholarship for tuition fee.
  • The scholarship is awarded for one academic session and may discontinue if the student’s progress is inconsistent.
  • The scholarship award may be withheld on account of any disciplinary or attendance issues.
  • The disciplinary committee has complete authority to withhold/withdraw scholarships at any point during the year.
  • Availability of scholarship awards is limited. Scholarship applications are entertained till 20th September.
  • Scholarships are revised every year.

Subsequent Merit-Based Scholarship

  • Scholarship in subsequent years is awarded on the basis of marks obtained in the University of London examinations in each year.
  • Referral and resit students are not entitled to scholarship.
  • Students achieving 4 Distinctions – 100% of tuition fee
  • Students achieving 3 Distinctions – 70% of tuition fee
  • Students achieving 2 Distinctions or 4 merits – 20% of tuition fee
  • Students achieving 1 Distinction and 1 merit or 3 merits – 15% of tuition fee

Courting The Law Need-Based Scholarship

Pakistan has no shortage of talented youth but a lack of resources often prevents students from realizing their full potential. This can become even more problematic while pursuing higher education. We at Business and Law School acknowledge these constraints. With the support of our friends at Courting The Law we will aid deserving and financially disadvantaged students through a need-based scholarship if the students have exhibited capabilities of performing well academically. The scholarship aims to enhance the socio-economic status of graduates by enabling them to pursue modern education and career opportunities for a brighter future.

  • This scholarship award will reduce tuition fee from PKR 3,75,000 to PKR 3,00,000.
  • The scholarship may require students to contribute pro bono hours of research work at the Legal Aid Clinic at BLS.
  • Paperwork and evidence of financial difficulties will be required.

Early Bird Discount

First 20 students who register with BLS at the start of every academic year get PKR 75,000 discounted from their tuition fee for the year.

Study-Now-Pay-Later Option

For the first time in Pakistan, Business and Law School has introduced the facility of study-now-pay-later. Students will be able to attend classes and give exams without having to worry about finances until the end of the term.

Flexible Payment Plans

Business and Law School offers flexible payment plans under which a lump sum payment is not required and students can pay their fees on a bi-annually or monthly installment basis. This option reduces pressure on parents and students and gives them an opportunity to have more control over their finances. An easy payment plan shall be provided in the fee structure.

Paid Teacher Assistant / Research Assistant Positions

Second and third year students, based on academic performance and an application essay, will be chosen as Teacher’s Assistants or Research Assistants, which will be paid positions. It not only provides financial help but also real and practical work experience for students, which will be beneficial for their careers.

PROVIDING FALSE INFORMATION

Providing false information may result in one or all of the following:

  • Cancellation of admission.
  • Rustication from the university.
  • Initiation of criminal proceedings.
  • Disqualification for award of any future loan/scholarship.
  • Refund of all payment received and/or penalty equal to total scholarship amount.
