Ahsan A. Munir
A graduate of the University of London LL.B Honours Programme, Mr. Ahsan A. Munir is a licensed attorney of the High Courts of Pakistan and has been practising law since 2010. He later pursued his LL.M degree in Petroleum Taxation and Finance from the prestigious Centre for Energy, Petroleum, Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP) at the University of Dundee, Scotland in 2012.
He holds certifications for
- International Upstream Petroleum Licensing; Strategies and Tactics for Host Governments & Oil Companies (CEPMLP, 2011);
- Oil and Gas Upstream Regulatory Framework in Pakistan (Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan, 2015);
- Private International Law, European Union Law and Comparative International Law (Hague Academy of International Law, 2017), amongst others.
Mr. Munir has been associated with top-tier energy law firms in Lahore at the outset of his legal career. He has exclusively worked for a leading Pakistani multinational energy conglomerate company and has managed their legal and corporate affairs for two years. He has diligently represented clients at the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority of Pakistan, Federal Board of Revenue, Board of Investment of Pakistan and the Ministry of Industries.
He has been engaged in litigation since his induction in the firm Munir & Munir, Advocates and Legal Advisers, in 2015. His areas of expertise include energy law (both local and international legislation), corporate law, property law, drafting of complex corporate agreements, taxation and labour law. He actively participates in pro bono family law litigation as well. He has been providing advisory services to many multinational entities and Foreign Missions.
Mr. Munir has also been teaching in the disciplines of Jurisprudence, Contract Law and Public International Law among other subjects for the past six years and has recently been inducted in the faculty of Nadira Hassan Law Department, Kinnaird College for Women, Lahore for the discipline of Tax law.
